The weekly story time will start again on August 18th at 10:00 a.m.

There will be stories, songs, crafts and treats to share.

This is for the very beginning listeners and up.

Make a Splash Read @ Your Library Summer Reading 2010

The Wellsville City Library along with the Friends of the Library,

Wellsville Bank, Patriot’s Bank, East Kansas Chemical, Taylor Oil,

Central Fiber Corp., Dr. Darrell Newman, Bree Auto Sales,

Wellsville Medical Clinic, Vickers Tax Service, & the Deterding Family,

hosted and supported this year’s reading program.

There were over 180 registered readers and 66 readers received

a library certificate & a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut!

The readers read over 1300 books in the six week time frame!

There were a host of volunteers that assisted with each days events and checkout.

We could not do this alone so… THANK YOU to all who contributed their gifts, and time!

Craft All Day-August 21, 2010

The library offers a day of crafts to the public each month. It is more fun to work on something when you can visit with others and be inspired to stick with it and finish. It’s a great way to share ideas and supplies with all of your friends. Sometimes there’s even a supply swap!

Scrap-booking, card-making, sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting, drawing, etc. etc. If it fits in your car and you can haul it, bring it! No flammables please. All ages are encouraged but youth need to be with an adult. No babysitting provided.

A table is provided for those who would like to bring a snack, lunch, etc. to share or not. Some people like to order from local restaurants and enjoy it while working.

So bring in a project to work on August 21st, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Each month a new day will be announced!

NExpress is here!

The library has changed it’s library software to NExpress Shared Catalog using the open source software, KOHA. The advantages to this is numerous. You are now able to access the library at home, work, or wherever you are that has access to the Internet. You are able to borrow books from not only Wellsville’s library but also from more than 30 other libraries. They will be delivered to Wellsville for you to pick up. We will be changing the fines policies to no fines, but any lost or damaged item will have to be paid for. We are re-registering all the patrons and the patrons can set their own passwords for use of the system. New library cards are being issued. The patron will receive two cards, one standard size card and one that goes on a key-chain. If the cards are lost they can be replaced at a fee of $1.00.

Download, print out, fill in your library card application and bring it to the library for your new card!
